At 95 years old, Edward Jordan Senior is living proof that it’s never too late to live life to the fullest. His story of determination, resilience and positivity is one that anyone can learn from, no matter their age.
A Stunning Career and Family Filled Life
Edward’s story begins in the 1930s. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the eldest of four children. Growing up in the Great Depression, he found himself having to work hard to help support his family at a young age. He worked odd jobs here and there, while also completing his studies. After graduating from high school, Edward set off to achieve his dreams.
He started off by enlisting in the army and serving his country for over two years. After completing his service, he returned to school at Morehouse College in Atlanta, studying mechanical engineering and earning a degree. With his degree in hand, Edward then went on to work for the government in the engineering department. It was here that he flourished and eventually became the Chief Designer of the department. His success and achievements didn’t stop there.
Not only was Edward successful in his career, but he was also a loving and dedicated family man. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary, and together they went on to have four beautiful children. Growing up, Edward was always firm, yet loving and caring. He was very involved in his children’s lives and taught them the values that he so strongly believed in.
The Beginnings of Edward’s Health Troubles
Edward’s life was going strong for many years until around his late 70s when he began to experience some serious health issues. His mind was still sharp, but his body was not as strong as it once was. His biggest issue was difficulty walking, causing him to rely on a cane for assistance.
Despite his physical limitations, Edward wasn’t one to sit idle. He continued to stay active and enjoy life as much as possible. He would go on walks with his cane, spend time in the garden and even swim in the pool. Even after his diagnosis of dementia and Alzheimer’s, he found ways to stay involved and engaged in activities he enjoyed.
His Family’s Love and Support
Edward’s family was always there to support and encourage him in his journey of living life to the fullest. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren provided him with lots of love, care and assistance. They kept him involved in their lives as much as possible and always made sure he was happy and comfortable.
His wife, Mary, was especially supportive of him. She stood by his side for over sixty years, providing him with love, attention and the best care she could give. As Edward’s health started to decline, Mary was there to help him in any way she could, from providing transportation to doctor appointments to just being present for him and talking to him.
The Power of Positivity
Edward’s attitude and outlook on life were as inspirational as his story. Despite the many challenges he experienced, he always chose to look on the brighter side. He believed that no matter the situation, it was important to stay positive, keep an open mind and focus on the good rather than the bad. This is what helped him make it through some of his toughest days.
He also taught those around him the power of positivity. He showed them that the only way to truly live life to the fullest was to stay positive and embrace all that life had to offer. His words of wisdom and his unbreakable spirit were an inspiration to many.
The Power of Music and Movement
Music and movement were two activities that Edward loved and believed had the power to heal. Whenever he was feeling down or his physical ailments were getting the better of him, he would turn to music and movement to help lift his spirits. His favorite songs were upbeat jazz and blues, which always had him dancing and swaying to the beat.
The combination of music and movement allowed him to be creative and also helped him to stay physically active. He believed that movement was essential for staying healthy, as it improved circulation and kept his joints flexible. Music gave him something to look forward to and reminded him of simpler times.
Making Every Moment Count
Edward’s story is one of courage, determination and resilience in the face of adversity. Despite the health challenges he faced, he chose to live life to the fullest and make every moment count. He taught those around him the importance of staying positive, being active, enjoying music and most importantly, living life with no regrets.
At 95 years old, Edward is still going strong. He is an example of how to live life to the fullest, no matter the age or situation. His story serves as a reminder that it’s never too late to start living and to make each moment of life count.
